How to prepare for your trip…

Step 1: The patient provides personal information

a Full name of the patient. Date of birth. Current address, phone number, email contact. Work and workplace.
b The disease has been diagnosed. Type of request for medical examination or treatment abroad (For example, general examinations, cancer screening, specific medical examination, follow-up, treatment consultation, treatment …)
c Intended date and time of travel abroad for medical treatment
d Summary of disease detection and treatment up to the present time.
e History of treatment journey.
f What medications have been taken
g What is the current status of the patient

Step 2: Transfer personal and medical information to a hospital in foreign country

Patient or family members who will submit patient records include: initial examination and treatment results up to the present time including: images saved on USB/icloud/ or CT, PEP-CT, MRI, ultrasound … , results of blood, urine, tests, conclusion of the doctor, prescriptions …

Patient records will be translated by a medical professional. Quotation for costs of translation and document transfer to a hospital at a foreign country. If the patient agrees to the quotation, the patient will pay this fee.

Step 3: Consult the patient after reviewing medical report

Within 2 days, MEDIFLY will transfer the translated medical report to the foreign hospital, the foreign physician specialist will read and analyze the patient’s medical report and provide an opinion on the previous treatment in Vietnam and advise on the next course of treatment overseas

MEDIFLY will translate the entire contents of the doctor’s consultation into Vietnamese and send it to the patient. The patient will pay this consultation fee in advance to the MEDIFLY office.

Step 4: Responding to patient (within 3 days)

MEDIFLY responds to the patient about their medical results and detailed information on the next steps. We will provide a patient acceptance letter from hospital and doctor information along with the treatment plan and protocol. A cost estimate and admission details will also be provided.

Step 5: Confirm with the patient whether the treatment decision is made overseas.

The patient or family member will confirm with MEDIFLY about the decision for treatment abroad. MEDIFLY will also provide alternative options should the patient and the family require other choices.

MEDIFLY will also arrange to certify patient fit for travel in cases where this is required

Step 6: Collecting application for medical treatment (medical visa, if necessary)

Patient is required to submit a medical visa application form to MEDIFLY (details vary by country).

If being requested by the foreign hospital, the patient will pay in advance of the admission fee on the basis of a quotation from the foreign hospital, and a support service fee from MEDIFLY. This hospital admission fee will be paid by MEDIFLY on behalf of the patient. If the foreign hospital does not request an advance payment, the patient will pay directly to the hospital.

 Step 7: Inform the result of medical visa application to patient (if any)

If the patient goes to have medical treatment in countries that require medical visas for Vietnamese people (Japan, Korea, India, Dubai, USA and Europe …), this will be the case.

From the time the patient submits all required documents and the advance of hospital fees to the time getting visa approval, will take about 1 week to 15 days.

Step 8: MEDIFLY supports patients and family members to send patients overseas, hospitalized safely and on schedule.

Before departure, the MEDIFLY guides the patient, or authorized family member, to sign confidentiality agreements, medical care agreement … A representative from MEDIFLY abroad will assist patients and family members during the course of the patient’s treatment abroad. MEDIFLY regularly contact the patient, their physician or family member as needed. MEDIFLY provides essential services throughout the course of patient treatment in foreign country such as medical transport, Vietnamese-speaking medical translator at hospital and outside hospital…

Step 9: Support the patient post treatment

After treatment abroad, MEDIFLY will regularly contact patients for their health status and arrange a follow-up visit with a specialist in Vietnam in case of necessity.
